Has several tattoos: His initials, (M.R.) on his left hand, with a 4-leaf clover and a #7 surrounding it; A bull''s skull with feathers on his right bicep; A Native American thunderbird, which is a symbol of strength, on his right forearm, with the words "Wyoming Outlaw" surrounding it, ("Wyoming Outlaw" is Carre Otis'' nick-name, and she has a matching tattoo on her wrist); A tiger''s head on his left shoulder with oriental symbols, which represent "soul, spirit, and good night;" A cross on his left bicep with "Carre Forever" surrounding it; A I.R.A. emblem on his left forearm, (possibly removed); A fine-line portrait of Carre Otis above his left shoulder blade; and possibly others, including a new tattoo on his chest (details uncertain).

In 1995 he was in the process of having several of his tattoos removed by a laser surgeon in Miami.

Lives by a lean, all-protein diet.

A serious weight-lifter. He has a personal trainer, and works out twice a day.

Loves small dogs; He has 7 Chihuahuas; and a pug named Raphael, in which he spent $14,000 in surgery because of the dog''s lung disease. His dogs often travel with him.

Favorite song is Bob Dylan''s Knocking On Heaven''s Door.

A huge fan of rock legend Bruce Springsteen. Mickey often listens to his music while working out.

In July of 1994 he was arrested by the L.A.P.D. and charged with spousal abuse (charges later dropped).

At one time or another, Mickey has owned the following businesses: The Beverly Hot Springs Spa in Beverly Hills; a gym in West Hollywood called Shapiro; a South Miami Beach bar called The Spot; and a candy store called Mickey''s and Joey''s (it''s uncertain whether he currently owns any of these, or whether they''re still in business). Currently, Mickey is looking into marketing replica items from the movie Harley-Davidson And The Marlboro Man, including leather jackets, and motorcycles. His business partner in this, is long time friend Chuck Zito. This project has been in the works for a few years now.

Has owned the following cars: A white Coupe De Ville (from the late 60''s); a Dodge Roadrunner Convertible (from 1966); a "gold plated" Rolls-Royce (year unknown); a green Mini Cooper (from 1963); and numerous Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Much of his collection has been sold, due to recent financial troubles.

Earliest known acting experience was a local amateur-theater production of Genet''s Death Watch in Miami. A friend suggested Mickey try-out for the part, even though Mickey had no acting experience. Mickey enjoyed the experience, which led him to pursue acting as a career.

Prior to his acting career, Mickey worked as a bouncer in a transvestite nightclub. He has also dug ditches, cleaned pools, and had a chestnut stand. He tried to land a job as a waiter, but his math wasn''t good enough.

Devout Catholic. He goes to church twice a week when no one else is around. He often prays to St. Jude.

In his youth he showed talent in football, baseball, and amateur boxing.

His father was an amateur bodybuilder.

His father died at a very young age from drinking (alcohol related). Mickey attended his funeral while filming "Rumble Fish".

Smokes Marlboro cigarettes.

Has never seen 9 1/2 Weeks, and rarely watches any of his movies.

He''s adored in France. It is also one of his favorite places to be, among other reasons, because he can bring his dogs into restaurants with him.

His younger brother Joey battles cancer.

Has had plastic surgery to re-construct his face. His plastic surgeon''s nick-name is "The Butcher."

Is missing a few of his front teeth, as a result he wears a fixed bridge. This was removed for his role in Animal Factory.

Is a skilled photographer.

Initially had the lead role in "Beverly Hills Cop", in which he later walked off the set.

Didn''t socialize much growing up. He considered himself to be a "loner."

Lost his virginity when he was 18 years old to a stripper who was "turning tricks."

Considered becoming an acting teacher before becoming an actor. Sandra Seacat convinced him to move from New York to Hollywood and try acting.

Favorite clothing designer is Giorgio Armani.

Though he was christened Philip Andre Rourke, the same name as his father, he was soon given the nickname "Mickey" because of his Irish ancestry. The origin of the nickname may also come from his father''s admiration for Yankee baseball great Mickey Mantle.

When he''s working he brings his own caravan, a silver Airstream trailer he affectionately calls "The Fish." He stocks ''The Fish'' with his friends and people he has recently met. Mickey often gives them odd-jobs in return for their support.

Has a fear of heights and of flying.

Prefers to live in hotels.

Feels that he is a "night person."
